Sessional Youth Workers NYT Calderdale

Location: Calderdale

Salary: £18,278 p/annum rising to £18,487 p/annum with length of service (pro-rata)

We have 3 & 6 hr contracts available which will involve working 1 or 2 evenings per week.

 

The role involves evening work at one of Youth Clubs across North & East Halifax (Ovenden, Pellon) or Lower Valley (Rastrick/Brighouse).

 

Sessions are 3 hrs in length and take place between 3pm and 9pm dependent upon session and location.

This role is temporary until 31st March 2023.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a few Sessional Youth Workers to join our award winning social enterprise. This role requires you to work within the sustainable communities’ team and you will be providing a wide range Youth Work programmes & interventions in Calderdale.

We are looking for Sessional Youth Workers who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people and the communities we serve. Your role will involve recruiting young people into the project, retain their engagement and encourage them to participate in sessions and activities which will raise aspirations, challenge them physically and emotionally, enabling them to reach and obtain their full potential.

This role will involve working with young people 8 – 19 years old and up to 24 with disabilities or additional needs. We also proactively engage families and the community in which young people live. The successful candidate will monitor positive outcomes for young people, advocate on their behalf, support them in successful transitions into adulthood and ensure a safe and supportive environment is created where young people can thrive.
