Newground Together is a registered charity which aims to empower people to create sustainable communities that are connected, resilient, healthy and prosperous to achieve it’s ambition; better lives and opportunities for communities.
Newground Together’s community work prioritises 3 key themes:
To support people into employment or to enhance their position in work
To create opportunities for people to thrive in their communities
To engage people in the natural environment
We operate across 3 key areas in the North of England: East Lancashire, Calderdale and Wakefield, supporting the communities where we work with services delivered by Newground Together’s in-house team and providing community grants for residents groups and grass roots community organisations for local projects.
Newground Together has a unique structure and funding model; forming part of the Together Housing group of companies and owning a profit making social enterprise subsidiary, Newground CIC.
Together Housing Association is a social landlord with 37,000 properties across the North of England. THA is not all about bricks and mortar, it has a commitment to making the neighbourhoods where it has homes fantastic places to be. Such is this commitment that it invests its surpluses in Newground Together to deliver its community programmes.
Newground CIC is a commercial organisation delivering professional services in a competitive market place. Its services include health, safety and environmental compliance, flood resilience, landscape architecture and grounds maintenance. It’s mission is to deliver positive social and environmental impact and investing it’s profits in the charity Newground Together to achieve the shared ambition; better lives and opportunities for our communities.
This sustainable funding position allows Newground Together to leverage the investments from Together Housing Group/Newground CIC to secure funding from external sources to maximise the social impact and community benefit.
