Newground Together, the charitable arm of Together Housing Group, has launched a new website aimed at communities in East Lancashire, Calderdale and Wakefield.
It has been designed to promote Newground Together’s support services including youth work and employment and skills advice.
You can also find out more about the small community grants programme for residents’ groups and grass roots community organisations and read about previous projects Newground Together has supported.
There is an events section where you can find out what is going on at the hubs in Pellon (Halifax), Shadsworth (Blackburn) and South Kirkby (Wakefield), as well as at Offshoots Walled Garden in Towneley Park, Burnley. For the first time, there is also the facility to book places online (once lockdown restrictions have been lifted).
Nic McGrath, Communities Programme Director at Newground Together, said: “The Newground website is great at showcasing the work we do around health and safety compliance, flood resilience, landscape architecture and grounds maintenance. But we felt like our community support services needed their own space.
“Our team often deals with sensitive subjects such as unemployment and debt and works closely with young people so we felt it was really important to have a ‘meet the team’ page. Taking that first step to ask for help can be scary but by putting a friendly face to a name and number, we hope to break down that barrier and encourage people to reach out to us.
“We want to offer our support to people in the communities where we work with to achieve their goals and ambitions, and build a better future. Whether you’re out of work and need help with your CV and job search, looking for ways to keep healthy and active or want to find something to keep the kids entertained, the team is here to support you. Keep checking the website for updates as we are working with new partners and launching exciting new projects all the time.”
