Community Employment Advisor

Location: Blackburn

Salary: £23,432 p/annum rising to £26,575 p/annum with length of service

Closing Dates: Sunday 17 October 2021

This post is part funded by the European Social fund until Dec 2023, the continuation of the post after that date will depend on alternative funding and activity being identified.

We’re looking for a number of people with a wide range of experience to join our team in customer facing roles.

Do you have experience of:

  • Supporting people with multiple barriers to access support & help, and achieve their personal goals
  • Working with people on a 121 basis providing mentoring support and information, advice & guidance
  • Working across the age range of 16 – 65
  • Partnership working with local agencies
  • Working in the third sector

Do you have a good understanding of:

  • Engaging with & supporting people with multiple needs and breaking down barriers to work
  • The challenges associated with poverty, unemployment, debt and mental health & wellbeing
  • Networking and partnership working and development, within the statutory, voluntary and private sectors?

The person for this role must be passionate in supporting people that are unemployed and getting them back into work, to address any barriers they currently have, preventing them from accessing or securing paid employment. Whether that be training and development or supporting with personal barriers linked to their current circumstances.

In this role you will be working with people to support their journey into work, providing support for CV development, job search, application writing, interview skills and confidence building.

You will be active in the recruitment of clients into the employability project, retain their engagement in the project and encourage them to participate with workshops, job clubs as well as 1-2-1s. You will also actively promote our employability offer on social media and in the co-ordination of events.  You will be doing all of these to raise aspirations; challenging and enabling all programme participants to reach their full potential.

This role is subject to a full enhanced DBS check, which Together Housing will support the ideal candidate through

A full driving license is also required, along with access to your own vehicle insured for business purposes, with travel to our other offices throughout the North of England.
