We have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to join our award winning social enterprise.  This role requires you to work within the sustainable communities’ team and you will be providing a wide range community programmes & interventions in Blackburn, Lancashire. Specifically you will be working with the communities in and around the wider Shadsworth area of Lancashire.

We are looking for a Senior Project Officer who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of the communities we serve. Your role will involve working with a variety of local project partners, which will include Local Authorities, community groups, schools and other housing associations to ensure that all projects are delivered smoothly and further development opportunities are maximised.

This will involve working with a variety of agencies such as, Youth Justice Service, Schools, Police and the Neighbourhoods team to provide and deliver a multi-disciplinary approach to meet the needs in the local area.

You will need to actively recruit people into the project, retain their engagement and encourage them to participate in sessions and activities which will raise aspirations, challenge them physically, emotionally and intellectually, enabling them to reach and obtain their full potential.

You will need to ensure that all delivery and provision fits in with local neighbourhood plans, strategies and agendas, attending forums and meetings to share information and contribute to achieving targets and outcomes.

You will maintain and develop the commitment and competence of any managed staff by regular communication, effective performance reviews and the provision of suitable training and development opportunities.

In order to undertake the role of Senior Project Officer, based from Blackburn, Lancashire you will require the following key skills, knowledge & experience:

  1. Experience of working with young people, their families and single adults within a community setting.
  2. Experience of developing positive working relationships with customers
  3. Experience of developing and delivering needs led interventions and programmes of activities at a neighbourhood level.
  4. Experience of networking and partnership working with local partners and services from statutory, voluntary and private sectors.
  5. Experience of developing and implementing innovative practice using initiative and judgement.
  6. You will require a level 3 NVQ in Youth and Community work or other relevant qualification in the field of working with children and young people.
  7. Available to work regular evenings and occasional weekends to provide excellent youth & community work that meets the needs of community

Due to the nature of the role a full driving license with access to a vehicle insured for business use is required

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a fully enhanced DBS check as well
