With the current situation, we are looking for someone who can work from home as well as in the office & community. With frequent travel throughout Calderdale.
This post is part funded by the European Social fund, from January 2021 to December 2023, the continuation of the post after that date will depend on alternative funding and activity being identified.

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Employment & Skills team in West Yorkshire, based in Calderdale, as a Senior Employer Engagement Officer, leading on all related fields for the brand new, Moving Forward Together programme.

The Moving Forward Together programme aims to upskill and find gainful employment for all candidates. As part of this offer you will;

  • Generate additional job opportunities
  • Run sector based training academies
  • Support businesses in welcoming candidates who have been long-term unemployed
  • Oversee and secure work placements for our customers on Newground Together Employment Programmes.

You will need the following key skills, knowledge & experience to work as a Senior Employment Advisor;

  • Ability to lead on the development of work placement, traineeship & volunteering opportunities for the employment and skills People programme participants.
  • The experience to  line management Employment Advisors, working together as part of the wider employment & skills people team.
  • Have the ability to engage with local employers to secure employment, training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • The skills to  provide local labour market information and statistics, and work alongside the employment team to align training and skills development and job brokerage – covering not only local labour market trends, but also opportunities.
  • Experience of developing and managing effective delivery of employment programmes and engagement activity.
  • Experience of developing and delivering needs led interventions including programmes of training and employability
  • Demonstratable knowledge of the local labour market & local employers

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving licence is required, along with access to your own vehicle insured for business purposes; with travel to our other offices throughout the North of England to be expected.

In addition, the successful applicant will have to undergo a full DBS check prior to starting work with ourselves.
