This post is part funded by the European Social fund, from January 2021 to December 2023, the continuation of the post after that date will depend on alternative funding and activity being identified.

We have an excellent opportunity to join our Business Health Matters Project Team based in Blackburn, as a Senior Employer Engagement Officer.
Business Health Matters is a new project to support people of all ages 16-65 to sustain their role at work. With retirement age increasing the government are providing funding to improve members of staff mental health and to upskill them to enable them to remain in their post longer. A key component of this project is to support SME’s across Pennine Lancashire and the role of Senior Employer Engagement officer is to build the foundations of strong partnership working.

Your normal day to day duties will consist of:

  1. To lead on the development of sustained work placement opportunities for our programme participants.
  2. You will have line management responsibility for the Work Placement Officers, working together as part of the wider employment & skills people team.
  3. To engage with local employers to secure employment, training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities.
  4. You will need to understand the local labour market, information and statistics, and work alongside the employment team to align training and skills development with job brokerage opportunities.

In order to successfully undertake the role of Senior Employer Engagement Officer you will be required to have:

  1. A track record of employer engagement as well as relationship management.
  2. Experience of developing and managing effective delivery of employment programmes and engagement activity.
  3. Experience of successfully obtaining work experience, apprenticeships, traineeships and supported employment opportunities.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of the local labour market & local employers.
