We have an excellent opportunity to join our Employment & Skills People Lancashire Team based in Blackburn, as a Senior Employer Engagement Officer.

Newground Together has supported over 500 people into work in the last two years and have forged excellent relationships with various partners in the area. We are now recruiting for someone to expand our foothold with local businesses in Blackburn and the surrounding areas, offering our varied range of employment services.

Your normal day to day duties will consist of:

  1. To lead on the development of sustained work placement opportunities for our programme participants.
  2. You will have line management responsibility for the Work Placement Officers, working together as part of the wider employment & skills people team.
  3. To engage with local employers to secure employment, training, work placement and apprenticeship opportunities.
  4. You will need to understand the local labour market, information and statistics, and work alongside the employment team to align training and skills development with job brokerage opportunities.

In order to successfully undertake the role of Senior Employer Engagement Officer you will be required to have:

  1. A track record of employer engagement as well as relationship management.
  2. Experience of developing and managing effective delivery of employment programmes and engagement activity.
  3. Experience of successfully obtaining work experience, apprenticeships, traineeships and supported employment opportunities.
  4. Demonstrable knowledge of the local labour market & local employers.
