We have an exciting new opportunity for a Project Officer to join our award winning social enterprise.  This role requires you to work within the sustainable communities’ team and work closely with the project lead and local partners to develop, deliver and monitor a range of community programmes and interventions to people of all ages and the wider community within the wider Shadsworth area of Lancashire.

We are looking for a Project Officer who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of both young people and the communities we serve. Your role will involve supporting in the development and delivery a range of interventions and personal development activities and community projects within identified neighbourhoods ensuring safe and effective target outputs and outcomes are achieved.

To ensure you work effectively towards this end you will need to work alongside existing projects and initiatives to add value and avoid duplication of services where appropriate.

You will need to actively recruit people into the project, retain their engagement and encourage them to participate in sessions and activities which will raise aspirations, challenge them physically and emotionally, enabling them to reach and obtain their full potential.

You will need to support in the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of a wide range of universal, targeted interventions that individuals/groups of people/families want to participate in – at a time and place suitable to meet their needs including evenings and weekends.

In order to undertake the role of Project Officer, based from Blackburn, Lancashire you will require the following key skills, knowledge & experience:

  1. Experience of working with young people, single adults and families within a community setting.
  2. Experience of developing positive working relationships with customers.
  3. A strong understanding the complex needs of families residing in Social Housing.
  4. A good understanding of the link between managing a tenancy, employment and personal development
  5. An ability to help customers to overcome barriers and enable them to be ‘workplace ready’ via one to one mentoring and support.
  6. To work effectively as part of a multi agency team
  7. This role requires twilight, weekend and evening work (including Friday nights) with a flexible and enthusiastic approach to programme delivery

Due to the nature of the role a full driving license with access to a vehicle insured for business use is required

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a fully enhanced DBS check as well
